R.K. Tantia Group, started in early 1940s, has been pioneer in the business of manufacturing of Cotton and Jute. The family was the owner of one of the largest cotton textiles in Mumbai called Shree Sitaram Mills Ltd. The promoters were also manufacturing Jute through its listed company M/s Saidpur Jute Co Ltd having its plant in eastern Bangladesh. The family exited these businesses in the early 1980s while retaining the company name.
The group for a brief period of 15 years was involved in Shipping and Logistics operations of bulk Chemicals and iron ore at Surat and Marmagoa ports, operating its own barges on the inland waters. Over the years with changing business opportunities, it was also one of the early entrants in flexible packing such as plastic coated sachets / films in 1990s having its plant in Tarapur.

The activities now include Residential & Commercial Leasing, Generation of Solar Energy, Warehousing and Logistics Park, Real Estate Development and Non-Banking Finance Arm.
Some of its clients have been Multinationals and Indian cos like Mercedes Benz, Colgate, Airbus, American School Bombay, Cleartrip Travel Services, Samson Maritime, Balkrishna Industries, Toshvin Analytical, National Consumer Co-operative Federation, CAMS etc.
Recently the group has set up a renewable energy division which generates Solar Power through its plants in Sholapur, Maharashtra.
